I was born and raised in the Rocky Point area three miles west of Sandpoint. I grew up playing in the lake with my brothers and sister and camping out in my backyard under the Idaho stars. As an adult, my work took me out of Sandpoint, but I vacationed with my family at our cabin on Pend Oreille Lake whenever possible. My love of the area has only gotten stronger with time. After having lived all over the country and spending some time overseas, I believe there is truly no place like North Idaho.

I graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in engineering. I married my wife of over 40 years, Anne Lyons, and we raised two daughters, Heather and Sarah. My career took our family to Texas, Montana and Washington where I started, managed and sold multiple companies. After returning to school, I obtained a PhD in engineering and, with two partners, started a software and engineering services company in Moscow in 1989. The company was sold in 2001 and our family moved back to the place we always called home: Sandpoint, Idaho.
This work experience has given me a strong background in business development, a strong work ethic and superior organizational skills.
